Help needed on performing live migration

Asked by Catherine

Hi,

I tried installing openstack grizzly as per the guide https://github.com/mseknibilel/OpenStack-Grizzly-Install-Guide/blob/OVS_MultiNode/OpenStack_Grizzly_Install_Guide.rst

I've one controller and 2 compute nodes. I tried migrating an instance from one compute node to the other.
Migragation was not successful and i ended up with "InvalidCPUInfo: Unacceptable CPU info: CPU doesn't have compatibility.
" error.

I tried to upgade to nova-2013.1 by downloading nova-2013.1.tar.gz. Please help me to understand where should i install this?
1. Should I install nova-2013.1 in controller node? If yes, what is the command?
2. Do i need to install this in compute nodes? If so, then how do I install nova-compute alone.

Thanks & Regards,
Catherine

  Hi,Catherine.
The two host cpu is different,so you can not migrate.
  The API virConnectCompareCPU return failed.
You can see error in /var/log/libvirt/libvirtd.log.
Please check the host's cpu flag is same,i suggest you change one host to install.
  You can see

Can you help with this problem?
