Could IP packets be exchanged between different subnetwork in Nova Network FLATDHCP mode?

Asked by yang xu

Hi all,

I have a question regarding nova network flatDHCP mode. Based on my understanding, in flatDHCP mode, one flat network would be created for one bridge (e.g. br100). We can create one flat network for one physical network interface card. If compute node has multiple physical network interface cards, we can create multiple flat network.

My question is is it possible that IP packets from those different subnetwork be exchanged? (I mean using private IP) Could it be successful through security group setting?

Thanks a lot.

You can make different subnetworks packets to be exchanged by using and configuring quantum-l3-agent, which can works as a router, so your private networks can ping each other successfully.
