Boot problem

Hi
I have launched a cirros image on a network and command "nova list" shows the state of the instance as ACTIVE. But when i tried to ping it, it gave an error that:-
ping: sendmsg: operation not permitted.
On checking the boot log via the OpenStack Dashboard, i got the following error:-
Booting from ROM...
This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU but detected an i686 CPU.
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
What is the solution to this? Is there any cirros image available for i686 ?
