Instance on one node died and can't be deleted or resurrected

Asked by Dave Pigott

Our cloud has been up and happy for over a week now, and then last night things started to get weird. I rebooted all the nodes and all seemed good.

Then one instance on one node is suddenly dead.

The nova-compute log for that node has the message "CRITICAL nova [-] Domain not found: no domain with matching name 'instance-00000002'".

Any idea what I might have done wrong (I didn't actually touch anything!) or how I can recover the situation?

Hi,

It happened to me once too, I (roughly) solved it deleting all the entries for that particular instance from the Nova DB (don't know what caused the behavior though).

Can you help with this problem?
