multi-nic question on multi network node deploy

Asked by Hyunsun Moon on 2011-07-04

Hi,
I recently updated Nova and found that creating network has been changed a lot.

Anyway,
I made two network node, one uses physical interface named 'eth3' and 'eth4' and the other uses 'eth0' and 'eth1'.

Now, how should I create network?
If I create network with 'nova-mange network create private 10.0.0.0/8 3 64 0 0 0 0 br0 eth3',
VLAN interface on the network node with eth0 and eth1 interfaces fails to up.

Why the physical interface name for network node should be specified on network create command?

I'm interesting about this topic.
I hope there's some more new docs talk that.
And I'm testing network_manager with VlanManager , it works fine for me.

As you said about specify NIC for each network might help to do LB policy of instances. That's the only possible reason in my mind.

I believe Vish knows the answer which you want......so do I

Cheers
