Running OS in development mode: AMQP is unreachable

Asked by HP

Hi,
I tried running OpenStack in development mode with the script written by Vish on the nova project website. The compute, network, volume, scheduler and objectstore's logs say:
AMQP on x.x.x.x:5672 is unreachable: (406, u"PRECONDITION_FAILED - cannot redeclare exchange 'scheduler_fanout' in vhost '/' with different type, durable, internal or autodelete value", (40, 10), 'Channel.exchange_declare').

Howver, when I run OS not in development mode, but with packages installed not from source, everything works fine; the same rabbitmq server, same other things.

What could be the problem?
Would much appreciate any help.

There was a bug recently in the fanout queue that has been fixed. I'm not sure what version the code you're running is, but current trunk has fixed that error.

Here is the version info from nova-api log:

Nova Version (2011.3-LOCALBRANCH:LOCALREVISION)

I just did "add-apt-repository ppa:nova-core/trunk" and "apt-get update" about an hour ago so I assumed things have been updated. And did "bzr clone lp:nova" yesterday. What else could be wrong?

You might try also just restarting rabbit.
