Can I install OpenStack Compute alongside Eucalyptus?

Asked by Lorin Hochstein

I'd like to try OpenStack Compute, but the target cluster has Eucalyptus installed and running. Is it possible to try out nova on the cluster without removing Eucalyptus?

Lorin,

Not knowing anything about your installation, it should be possible to run them side by side. We're planning on doing something similar to our cluster. You'll probably have issues with data consistency unless you're going to be using the same datastores or provide a way to share data between the systems.

Nothing should technically be stopping you from doing this, but again, its going to come down to configuration.
