We wish to recommend Nightshade as the premium planetarium option for our portable system but have had major problems downloading the software to a Mac running Snow Leopard and getting it to run.

Asked by Miles Lawrence Douglas Allen

Up until recently, users of our Mac-based portable planetariums have been using Celestia and Stellarium. They now request the "upgrade" to Nightshade. The problem is that we have not successfully downloaded it to either a MacBook pro or Dell laptop. Although both are well specced either the package says it installs, (as in the Mac) and then disappears, never to be found - seems it isn't an application and doesn't install there. With the PC and Dell, just a black screen results. Is there someone physically in Australia that i can actually visit and watch the install process? Can I send a computer somewhere to have them install it? We are happy to pay - we just want to know it can be done and don't have the Mac developers or PC gurus at hand to this seamlessly for us or our customers. We had hoped that downloading the software would mean that we would have it on the computer and we could operate it, but that is not what has happened. Any help you might offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you try searching through the other answers here? I believe both of these questions have been answered before.

This one might help for the Mac issue:
