Fn+F2 doesn't work

Asked by DenisPsy

Hi.
I'm running Easy Peasy (distro from Ubuntu 8.10 with netbook remix) on EEE Pc 701, and I'm not able to turn on or off wi-fi by pressing Fn+F2. I have checked the eeepc-wifi-notify.py on /etc/acpi and the file has this lines in the beginning:

Wifi toggle notification -- EeePC 901/1000
# v1.2
# by elmurato
# Modified version from NiceeePC (https://launchpad.net/niceeepc)

How can I solve this?

I downloaded and installed version 1.4, and the problem is still there.

That's why NiceeePC is for Ubuntu Hardy Heron, not Intrepid, not Easy Peasy (formerly Ubuntu eee), not eeebuntu, not. You can see "by elmurato", not "by havok", you're asking in the wrong place, that a specialized work for the 901/1000 hardware. I suppose that's the reason why it's not working, because you have a 701.

As displayed here:

You can contact elmurato here:

Or contact people from Easy Peasy.

Cheers.

To remove NiceeePC 1.4

sudo apt-get remove niceeepc

On a terminal. Or go to Synaptic, find Niceeepc and unistall it.

Previous version lacked that feature, so they are not uninstallable.

The problem is if you typed “niceeepc first-run” on a terminal, because that changes are not possible to remove automatically. If you do so, is better if you reinstall what distro you want to use.

Cheers.
