acr122u-a9 not detected by nfcpy on Raspberry Pi

Asked by Szymon Przedwojski

Hi,

I'm trying to get my ACR122U-A9 working on Raspberry Pi with nfcpy.
I have nfcpy configured, but when I run "python examples/tagtool.py show" all I get is:

[nfc.clf] searching for reader with path 'usb'
[nfc.clf] no reader found at 'usb'
[main] no contactless reader found

I have also installed the PCSC package, and when I run "pcsc_scan" it is able to detect the reader and it's working properly reading tags etc.

Also the diode on the reader is on, which suggests that everything is ok with the drivers.
When I run "lsusb -t" it says that the driver for the reader is "usbfs".

Any advice?
Should I also install the manufacturer's drivers?

All help will be greatly appreciated :)
