Is Quantum Openvswitch Plugin Supported on Ubuntu/Debian with XCP server (Kronos) and OpenStack Grizzly?

Asked by Vangelis Tasoulas

After setting up XCP on Ubuntu 12.04 with cloud archive enabled, I installed OpenStack Grizzly and it looks like it is working except the network.

I use openvswitch and I tried to setup the network with Openvswitch agent.

I am not sure if it is something I setup in a wrong way, or if it is simply not supported in OpenStack Grizzly yet so can someone clarify?

I also found this: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/neutron/+spec/xenapi-ovs
So probably it is not working yet (or it is working on trunk as this blueprint is in the "implemented" state).

A short description of my current setup:

As per the documentation, I installed a DomU Paravirtualized machine on top of the XCP (again Ubuntu 12.04), and nove-compute-xcp package into it.

In Dom0 I installed the xenserver plugins and xenserver network scripts plus the quantum-plugin-openvswitch-agent but probably here is the mistake since the agent should be collocated with the nova-compute component, right? But in this case nova-compute runs on a DomU, so how will Dom0 create the necessary gre tunnels and ovs interfaces?
