How to proceed with code submission

Asked by Mandeep Dhami

Hi:

I have registered a new blueprint for quantum (https://blueprints.launchpad.net/quantum/+spec/quantum-bigswitch-plugin). How do I proceed with identifying reviewers for the blueprint and code?

Thanks,
Mandeep

Hi Mandeep,

I see you have targeted this blueprint for Essex-4; being a plugin I expect it to be quite a large patch. It will be great if we can discuss plans in Tuesday's 2/14 Netstack meeting at 10PM GMT on the #openstack-meeting channel.

Once you push the code on gerrit, Quantum core reviewers will automatically take care of reviewing your code. If you want specific people to have a look at your code, or if you want to solicit a review you can use the NetStack mailing list.

Please bear in mind that, before pushing code to Gerrit, you should sign the Openstack CLA.

Yeah, we have a lot of proposed plugins still lined up and trying to get in during E-4. We just merged the linux bridge, and we have the Ryu controller and the NVP plugin. The folks at locaweb contacted me last week about merging their plugin (https://github.com/locaweb/quantum) and I told them I did not think we have the review cycles in E-4 to get it in at the last minute. Putting the code together and proposing to Gerrit is the right next step, but this late in the cycle there are no guarantees for E-4.

Btw, volunteering to take on other E-4 tasks that are useful to the community as a whole (e.g., bug fixes, testing, code reviews, etc.) can help us get through our already committed tasks for E-4 and increases the chances of core devs having the cycles to review more plugins.

Can you help with this problem?
