Installing Wine from Ubuntu Software Center broke Netflix Desktop
Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at this question.
I had ND working perfectly but then wanted to install a Windows PDF editor and so went to Ubuntu Software Center and installed:
Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer (meta-package)
Wine Windows Program Loader
Got the PDF app working, but then tried ND and it gave me the error:
The Silverlight Plugin has crashed.
Reload the page to try again.
I tried reinstalling ND, didn't work.
tried installing Mono from the Ubuntu Software Center, didn't work.
tried uninstalling Mono, MS Compatibility Layer, Wine Program Loader, and Mono, then reinstalling just MS Compat Layer, then the ND install commands from the terminal (updating, adding the repository, etc.) and it didn't prompt to run the Mono & Gecko installers, so it didn't work either.
tried updating Silverlight from within FF, didn't work.
How do I uninstall everything and start from scratch? I'd like to avoid paving my whole system.
Second question, can I use the Wine instance that gets loaded with ND to install/run other Windows apps? If so, how's that done? I read another thread where you mentioned to someone where it's located, etc. but I don't think that would help me until I clear up this mess I've created first.
Thanks much,
Erin.
