So, I prefer having the client not be in full-screen mode but when I take it out of the mode, there is this annoying X on the right side of the webpage that obstructs the search field, is there anyway to disable this obstructing button?

Yes, use "Alt+T" on the keyboard to activate the hidden "Tools" menu and then select "Add-Ons". Once the Add-On manager opens click the "Extensions" button on the left and then click the "Disable" button next to "Fullscreen Close Plugin 0.3.0". I hope that helps!
