Netflix Desktop all of a sudden wants me to upgrade SIlverlight

Asked by Christian Hvide

Hello. Can you please fix netflix desktop? The patch doesn't seem to work anymore.
At least for me it doesn't.
The profile folder used to be .netflix-desktop, but for some reason that is no longer the case. So I can't fix this myself.
Where did you put the .netflix.desktop folder and the one that used to be /usr/share/netflix-desktop is also gone.

The folder is now moved to "~/.wine-browser" (since it can be used for more than just netflix). Provided that you're updated to the latest netflix-desktop then if you delete that folder it should re-create it with a profile where Firefox can't update (the Firefox update triggers the Silverlight update). Let me know if that does the trick.

Yes, thanks. BUt now it's playing the video super fast (double speed).
Do you know what causes that and how to fix it?

Yeah, that's a bug in PulseAudio - you can work around it (though some people report only temporarily) by restarting the PulseAudio server:
pulseaudio -k

That did the trick. Thanks.
Btw, are you still going to make those desktop apps for the widevine streaming sites (hbo go, hbo nordic, cinamax, starz etc.)?
