Any ideas on why I can not install amd64 version of wine-compholio?

Asked by ddempsey3

Any idea why I am getting prompted to install i386 and not amd64 version? I have attached the uname output as well as the output of the install.

Here is the output from the install command:

ddempsey3@mediapc-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get install wine-compholio:amd64

Reading state information... Done
Note, selecting 'wine-compholio:i386' instead of 'wine-compholio'
The following extra packages will be installed:

ddempsey3@mediapc-desktop:~$ dpkg --print-foreign-architectures
i386

ddempsey3@mediapc-desktop:~$ uname -a
Linux mediapc-desktop 3.2.0-37-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 24 15:28:10 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

You cannot install an amd64 version of wine-compholio because the current implementation _requires_ a 32-bit Wine prefix. Currently, the Silverlight plugin will barf on load if you try to use a 64-bit prefix.

Can you help with this problem?
