Why does Netflix-Desktop require ttf-mscorefonts-installer?

During the installation of the Netflix-Desktop, I was required to install the ttf-mscorefonts-installer package. This was a bit puzzling. Can anyone explain the rationale for this?

Yes, Netflix Desktop requires ttf-mscorefonts-installer because the Netflix Silverlight app requires either Arial or Verdana to be installed or it will fail immediately with an error. So, until I can get a subsitute font loaded then that's what necessary to handle this issue.
