Vertical scroll bars too thin in main launcher

Asked by Adam J Richardson

Is there a way to thicken up the vertical scroll bars? The one for the pane on the left is especially tricky to click on.

Open up the gtkrc file for your theme: "~/.themes/<THEME>/gtk-2.0" and find the line:

"GtkRange ::slider-width = 16"

And change that to something higher. I think 16 is a standard value.

Thanks for the reply Hund.

I should have stated explicitly in my original post: I was talking about netbook-launcher. From Neil J Patel's posts, I get the impression netbook-launcher doesn't read GTK themes yet, but I'm still hopeful that there's a way to make the vertical scroll bars thicker. I'm happy to dabble with the source code if that's what it takes.

The one on the left must be (I'm guessing here) about 5 pixels wide, which is pretty hard to grab with a netbook's touchpad. I wouldn't normally object, but my trackball is almost the same size as my netbook and I don't really feel comfortable using them together. :)

I tried changing the setting in my themes just in case, but it didn't seem to change the vertical scroll bars. (I killed and started netbook-launcher after each change.)

This is not 'answered' but I don't see a way to flip it back... adding this note because I too would like to tweak that value.

Can you help with this problem?
