netbook-launcher show corrupted icons and very slow

Asked by Oleksandr

Netbook-launcher from UNR worked fine until yesterday I used my Lenovo S10 with external monitor. After disconnecting seems that something happened with netbook-launcher: it shows corrupted icons, works VERY slow. No unusual error messages then run it from console. 2 times tried to reinstall it and downgrade to 1.2

Also search in gconfd for extra settings give 0 result

Ubuntu 8.10 interpid, up to date
netbook-launcher 1.2-0ubuntu1 and 1.5.1~ppa1 - same behavior.

in console then I try to choose any tab (internet, games, etc)

Hm... Thanx to autocinfiguration, my xorg.conf extends with
        SubSection "Display"
                Virtual 2048 768
        EndSubSection
in Section "Screen"
Thats why my netbook-launcher was so slow. Even keys -d and -h didn't help. So now I just remove this 3 line and fix everything.

just wondering could it be possible that one is not able to click on the icons in the gnome-shell due to this error

as in could it b tht it makes some icons unclickable, while u have to figure out the a specific point at which click is recognised

example: the user name button which appears on the extreme right corner of the gnome-shell, gives u lock screen/shutdown/etc , for me log on name "max" i have to click somwhere in middle of "a" to get the menu ( found by trial and error)

help!
