Touchscreen

Asked by Fabio Marzocca

Is there a touchscreen set of packages available for Netbook Remix (or hardy)? I need to test ubuntu on a 9"screen device without keyboard.

There are no separate packages for touchscreen. If you device has a touch-screen, and you have the correct drivers installed, you can use the launcher like normal (I've tried to make the buttons large enough for touchscreen usage, at least for 1024x600).

If you get it setup, please report any bugs with touch-screen usage :-)

Hi! I'm trying to get UME running on a Gigabyte M912 with Touchscreen and Stuff. The Launcher itself is extremely nice, but could you make the scrollbars just a little wider? Alternatively there could be a (optional?) Grab-And-Drag feature...

Anything specific, I should test?

Neil,
I second Berhard's request. I'm running this on an atom mini-itx with an 840 by 480 8" touchscreen, and the scrollbar is a little too fiddly, especially since you seem to have to drag it and can't just tap/click the lower part of the space bar to signify page down. Also, I'm having a hell of a time getting the touchscreen working in hardy even though was flawless in gutsy, but that is not Netbook remix related. Great work though, it really is a nice user interface. Thanks.
