webcam operation?

Asked by browncoat-rabeye

Hello,

I have recently been working with a Samsung Q1U and the Maccaslin images and Moblin Image Creator. I have noticed that the webcam/camera are not operational. Is there something I am missing or is this not in the released versions yet. I can plug in a USB cam and it works fine, but is a bit clunky to carry around.

Does the newly released Ubuntu netbook remix solve this or is it simply a new interface/theme type of interface?

Thanks in advance! :)

Netbook Remix is really just a small number of gnome packages meant to make navigating and window management of the small screens of ULPC/UMPCs a little easier. I'm sure more features would eventually be built around them but they wouldn't affect a webcam anymore than the already installed OS. However, there is a bug report for the non-functional webcam for the Q1 using the Ubuntu MID at their bug tracking page. It appears as though there isn't a supported driver for it. You can see that report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mobile/+bug/228790
