Start Programming Ruby on Rails Netbeans in Ubuntu/Linux installing RoR Netbeans from canonical maintained install repositories. Apt-Get/Synaptic

Asked by Jānis Kangarooo

I want to start programming in NetBeans with Ruby On Rails.
I tryd installing just programm from synaptic. Couldnt get starting using Netbeans RoR. Something wasnt working after installation.
Since im new to ubuntu i didnt removed Netbeans couse didnt know how so i installed new ubuntu
On new ubuntu installed NetBeans RoR version from NetBeans web and also after failing to start making RoR programming i also tryd full version.
Also some tutorials.
But best way would be installing from Synaptic Canonical maintained installation package.
Whitch would be correct?

Also heres an example of dirty installation tutorial: http://panthersoftware.com/articles/view/6/ruby-on-rails-development-on-ubuntu-9-04-jaunty-using-ruby-1-8-6
It recomends Hardy Ruby repositories since Ubuntu 9.04 repositories contain both Ruby 1.9 and Ruby 1.8. Unfortunately, the jaunty repositories contain Ruby 1.8.7 when we actually want Ruby 1.8.6.

I just want to know how to install all required packages to start programming from Canonical maintained packages on clean installed Ubuntu/Linux.
