alt tab while dragging

Asked by t6435bm

Hi... There is a functionality I really would like to have with gnome.

I would like to drag any file, alt+tab to any application, and drop.

Let's say I have 4 or 5 apps open and I want to open a bash script in gedit, and I have the gedit window open, somewhere behind nautilus, and I don't want to use the context menu and then "open with", nor have the gedit window marked "on top", nor want to drag to the panel button, wait, and then drag to the app window...

I would like to take the file in Nautilus, alt+tab to gedit, and then drop.

When I try to do it, the alt+tab functionality is blocked while the file icon is "in hold".

Is it possible with gnome right know or is it a non existent feature?

Where can I place a request for this feature if it doesn't exist?

I want to. That's fast... and I think it would be good to have that functionality in gnome...
