I'm not able to enter the Super user Password

hello, i'm from germany so sorry for my bad english. I have a problem to enter the super user (su or sudo) password. when i go into the terminal i enter sudo and then it wants to know the password. and this is the problem. i'm not able to type in this fucking password. the password is 0 and when i typ in 0, nothing apears in the terminal. not the 0 or a dot or a star, nothing. so can you help me please??? i have ubuntu 7.04 installed on my machine and, perhaps it's important, it's installed on a vm ware ( virual machine )

Hello,

This is normal, when you type your password in the terminal, nothing is shown on the screen, not even stars.
when you password is asked, just type it and press enter.
