Using wildcards for multirename

Asked by ksian

Hello,

Firstly I want to congratulate you for the very useful script. I am using it successfully for quite some time. With all that I am missing some options. More exactly I want to be able to rename a list of files and I want to remove the first 2 characters from the name - for example. Is there any possibility to do that with this script?

Thanks and keep up with the good work.

Currently, taking the current name and editing it is not possible. It would be best if you go file a bug about it with all the file renaming ideas you have at https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus-renamer

But keep in mind we should keep the renaming app as simple as possible, otherwise it might be confusing to novice users.

I have already added filename slicing pattern. It will be available in the next release.
