is there a way to manually browse to the "playing recordings" screen?

Yesterday I ran into a scenario where after my iphone locked it self that I wasn't able to reconnect to the myth front end while a recording was playing. Trying to reconnect resulted in repeated "network error" dialogs. I rebooted the iphone and it was able to reconnect, but it did not change the "playing recodings" button screen (the recording was still playing). It remained on the navigation screen (big arrow buttons).

Is there a way to manually move to the "playing recodings" screen? ie is there a button like "music" for the playing recordings screens?

No, there isn't. It shouldn't be having an issue though. Try telnet'ing to port 6546 and typing:

# query location

It should be something like playbackbox if you're watching tv. If it's mainmenu or something else then the problem is with MythTV.
