Widget shows black in Ubuntu 15.10

On boot, the desktop widget just shows up as a black block since upgrade from Ubuntu 15.04. The drop down says Refresh Weather (Updated Now), but no data is displayed in the dropdown, and various graphics are now displayed as a ring with a diagonal line through it (think Ghostbusters). I exit the widget and reload with no effect. Any ideas?
