mplayer does not stop screensaver in Karmic

Asked by Grzegorz Śliwiński

In previous Ubuntu editions, while watching videos with mplayer, it did prevented screensaver from turning on. Currently in Karmic, it doesn't and after specified time screensaver appears hiding watched video, and in my case - blocking session.
That has probably something to do with migration to DeviceKit from hal, and hence this question, should i file a bug report here, or on the mplayers bugzilla?

It's probably because of GNOME's horrid algorithm about when it turns the screensaver on. Crude workarounds: disable the screensaver whenever you need to watch a movie, or code a script that moves the mouse every minute or so.

Can you help with this problem?
