Dwell click in panel dosen't work

Asked by depark

I installed mousetweaks and it works great. When I place "Dwell Click" in the panel it remains greyed out. How do I correct this? The "Dwell Click Type" window works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Darryl

The Dwell Click panel applet only works when dwelling is enabled in timed mode (upper radio-button). If dwelling is enabled in gesture mode, or if it is disabled, the dwell click applet remains greyed, because it has nothing to do.

Or are you telling us, that on your system it remains greyed, also when dwelling in timed mode is active?

Maybe this is a dbus problem. Can you please check if the package dbus-x11 is installed and that dbus-launch is running. (check the output of 'ps ax | grep dbus-launch' )

Cheers.

I just installed dbus-x11. How do I check if dbus-launch is running?

(check the output of 'ps ax | grep dbus-launch' )

It's running. 'ps ax' lists the running processes on your system.
I've opened a bug for this.

I'm not sure why but when I restarted my system after I installed dbus-x11 the applet is now working. Was it just that I didn't have that package?

Should I worry about that bug that was opened?

Thanks for all your help.

Ok, I wasn't sure if restarting was necessary. Anyway great it works.

We should probably add a dbus-x11 dependency to the package. Francesco?!

Yes, I will add it to the dependencies of mousetweaks.

Can you help with this problem?
