utube extention will load but will not play

Asked by phil woodford

I can get utube to load, but it will not play.
For example, the vidio clips are there to the left of the screen, but can not be accessed.
As far as i am aware the utube extension is loaded, although it does not appear with the other extentions like groovshark.
Also difficulty in loading yes.fm extension

and as a final wish, can I load BBC radios 4 and 2 onto moovida?

Hi Phil,
What version of Moovida are you running? How did you get/install it?
The problem you are having with the youtube plugin is very likely an issue that was already fixed in the development branch but not released yet. If you feel comfortable with command-line usage, you may want to try and check out the development branch, see instructions at http://www.moovida.com/documentation/developers_guide/developers_guide.html.

As to the yes.fm extension, it is known to be broken for ages, and will likely never be fixed.

As far as I know there is no plugin for BBC radio.

Note that Moovida is officially not supported any longer, you may want to consider other options. There is an ongoing community effort that initiated from Moovida, you can track it at http://launchpad.net/elisa.

I´m sorry to hear that the project is being wound up.........it is a pity.......but the problem still remains, I still can not get utube up...and I have followed the instructions to the letter.

We need more information to understand the issue. What version of Moovida are you running? How did you install it?
Can you run the following command in a terminal and try to play a youtube video, then exit Moovida:

    ELISA_DEBUG=youtube*:5,player:5 moovida &> moovida.log

Then please file a new bug report at https://bugs.launchpad.net/moovida/+filebug, describe the issue and attach the resulting log file (moovida.log) to the bug report. Thanks.

Can you help with this problem?
