Unable to login to the Ubuntu Wiki using OpenID

Asked by andrew.46

Hi,

I recently cancelled my Launchpad accound but have now revived it:

https://launchpad.net/~andrew.46

However I am unable to log onto the Ubuntu Wiki as andrew.46 and continue editing wiki pages as OpenID fails with the following message:

+--------------
The username you have chosen is already taken. If it is your username, enter your password below to associate the username with your OpenID. Otherwise, please choose a different username and leave the password field blank.
+-------------

I have entered my OpenID password without success and any combination of passwords that may have been my old wiki passwords also without success.

I would be grateful if somebody could suggest a way of rectifying this problem which I suspect I have brought upon myself by injudiciously closing and then reopening my account :).

Thanks for your trouble,

Andrew

Whiteboard:
This is either a canonical-identity-provider issue or a wiki issue, AFAIK. Assigning to canonical-identity-provider somewhat arbitrarily since I think the same people are responsible for both. If LP Foundations needs to help, please let me know. This is a moin issue. The moin-openid code was merged with upstream for moin 1.9 afaik so the code on LP is potentially obsolete. This has been difficult to reproduce reliably in the past but it's certainly something which should be handled more gracefully by the moin-openid code. We need to check if it's still an issue with 1.9. I'm not sure when we can schedule time for this but we'll see what we can do. Gary

Thanks for moving my query to the appropriate place :). Still unable to logon to my wiki pages with the same error message, I look forward to any resolution of this exasperating problem.

Andrew
