letter of motivation

Asked by Tim on 2012-03-13

Hey,

I have one more question. What is the best way to write a letter of motivation that has a matching design to the moderncv. Is it possible to start a letter in moderncv class? Right now I am using the normal the class g-brief. But it looks so different to my great looking cv that I made with moderncv class.
I saw the quwstion #142983 but it seems like he created is own design matching it with the moderncv class.

I would be very happy for your help.

Thanks so much

Tim

The short answer is there is no easy way yet for all moderncv designs as of moderncv v0.19. I am working on providing a moderncvletter class that would provide a unified template that would adapt to all the moderncv styles.

In the meanwhile, a rough template is provided in the examples folder for the classic and casual styles (based on a standard article, and defining the base layout for a letter). You can also write your letter inside a moderncv document; just don't call \maketitle and define the layout yourself; that way, you will have all the fonts and colors defined similarly to your resume.

Kind regards,

Good news: as of version 1.0, released on Mar 26, commands have been implemented to generate cover letters for every moderncv style. Enjoy!
