space between name and the first section heading

Asked by Ram Dhullipudi

I like to reduce the space between the name and the first section heading while using classic style. The heading is typeset with a minipage environment and this is the reason for the extra space. Is there way to reduce the space after the minipage and squeeze the white space

Hi Ram,

The easiest (but dirty) way to do this is to manually force a negative space after the heading, by using the command
\vspace*{-5mm}
on the line after \maketitle{}, to reduce the spacing by 5mm.

Kind regards,

Xavier
