release date for mnemosyne 2.x

Asked by calexander

Greetings,
First, thanks so much for the wonderful and free program. It has been a life saver for Greek. I've hunted around and found a few questions reflecting a problem that I have. Essentially, I gather that the problem is with using Qt3. This makes Hebrew fonts pretty whack. I understand that Qt4 should fix that. So here's my three-fold question:
Could you link me to a description of what Qt3 is? I see the reference, no clue what it is.
Is there any way in which I can start typing Hebrew flashcards with the Qt4 font so that when the new release comes out I am able to simply import them and go? I don't think I'll be able to put them out fast enough if I start in mid-class.
Is there a public release date for Mnemosyne 2.x? Especially, I am wondering whether or not I will be able to recommend this to students for keeping up on Hebrew vocabulary.
Thanks much!
- Cody

Hi,

Qt is the toolkit that Mnemosyne uses to draw its windows. Mnemosyne 1.x uses
Qt3, Mnemosyne 2.x uses Qt4. You can type your Hebrew flashcards in Mnemosyne
1.x, but the vocalisation could be badly positioned. However, you will be able
to import these flashcards without problems once it comes out (no date estimate
for that, though, but very likely before the end of the year.)
