"Doubles cards"' follows immediately

Asked by trotter

Hi,
I've created a card "maison=>house" and ticked the vice versa" in the bottom.

So I have now 2 cards : 1)Q:Maison A:House and 2)Q:House A:Maison

My problem is that the 2 cards follows immediately.
For instance,
1)mnemosyne ask me "translate maison", I anwser "house"
then, immediately....
2)mnemosyne ask me "translate house"...I anwser "maison", no mistakes possibles since I've seen it before, 3 seconds ago ! And I don't know how to grade this last anwser...

******

I tried with and without random plugin, same things. It does always that, for all my 250 cards.

Any idea ? Is it a bug ? A feature ?

If you have only two cards in your entire deck, then Mnemosyne has no choice
but to ask you the reverse card.

I've tried with the latest version 1.2.1 to create a new deck to add three
vice-versa cards, so in total 6 cards in my deck. I did not see the reverse
card following the forward card...

Okay.
It don't behave like that 100% of the times actually, but pretty often, every 3 cards or so.
Maybe it's bad luck.
Kind of annoying anyway, I really don't know how to rate them.

(I forgot to tell that I messed around a bit with the doubles : one time I forgot to tick the checkbox "make doubles" for twenty cards or so, so I selected all the deck and clicked on "Add reverse card", then "manage doubles". I try this with a new deck with 10 cards like you, and it seems ok.)

I know programs dealing with randomness can lead to weird stuff, so maybe it's not a bug at all, that's why I ask in "question".
I've made a video :

Does this behaviour seems natural to you ?

(Sorry for my english, btw)

I would not worry too much about it. If you think you'll remember it for at
least a few days, press 2 or higher.

Should not make a big difference.

Looks OK. What is happening is that as soon as you learn the forward side of
the card, Mnemosyne will mark the reverse side as ready for learning.

If you want to decrease the chances of seeing them soon after each other,
increase the 'number of grade 0 cards to hold in your hand' option.

Hope this helps,

BTW, I'll see if for Mnemosyne 2.0 I can find a way to delay the learning of
new related cards a day or so.
