File formats for import

Asked by Rob Williamson

I'm currently using the "1-line question, 1-line answer" import method to transfer flash cards from a proprietary format. It's slow going, and I'm wondering about the alternate import formats that Mnemosyne supports. The proprietary format is a lot like:

question:
text text..
more text...
(a blank space here)
answer:
Solution
Reference
Done

I'm hoping I can batch convert these cards because there's a large number of them.

Any tips or advice?

If you want to automate this, I'm afraid the only way is to write a new importer.

It's best to spend the effort in the upcoming 2.0 codebase though.

FYI, this is the importer of the tab-separated format in 2.0:

Can you help with this problem?
