Vista to Mac

Asked by Lauren Johnson

I am trying to transfer my mnemosyne files from Vista to my new Mac and after I copy the files onto a USB drive, they aren't showing up on when I plug the drive into the Mac. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Just plugging in the USB drive will not be enough for the Mac version to pick them up, you need to copy your .mnemosyne directory from Vista at C:\Users\Lauren\.mnemoyse to your Mac at ~\Library\Mnemosyne

(I don't have a Mac, so I'm not 100% of the exact locations and procedures)

Thank you for responding so quickly!
I think part of the problem is that the program didn't download correctly on my computer. It it showing up as a dmg (disk image?) in my downloads and when I try to click on it, nothing happens. So I guess I have a new problem! Any ideas on this one? Sorry about that.

Okay nevermind, I fixed that problem! But I am copying from where you suggested.. still no dice. Unless I'm misunderstanding.

Couldn't get the USB to work so I e-mailed the MEM files to myself and put them in the library that way. Worked! Thanks.
