how do I assign a category

I do not see how to assign a category to my card. I deduce that it is through XML but I cannot find documentation of tags used in XML. Can I assign a category once the card is in the database? I don't see any way to install a new category. I suggest that documentation be enhanced, and/or the help file that comes with the system.

You cannot do it when importing cards from a txt file, but when you add cards through the UI, you can add categories.
