can't open default cards

my computer crashed and now says that my file is not there and the temp file has to be used. I tried to open the default but that would not work either, I'm not sure how to do it.

If your lucky, Mnemosyne has created a backup file itself, in a directory like C:\Documents and Settings\Elizabeth\.mnemosyne\backups. It's a compressed xml file, so you have to decompress it, start a new database, and then import the xml file.

Or you can just replace default.mem with a backup you created yourself earlier.
