1. Firstly, disengage your caps lock... all caps is the internet etiquette equivalent of shouting, it is considered rude.
2. Next tell us what version (1.7.?) of Mixxx you are running and what build of that version (64-bit build or 32-bit build)
3. Try the other build of the newest release - 1.7.1. i.e. if you are running the 64-bit build of Mixxx try the 32-bit build
4. If that works tell us, if not follow the steps here and open a proper bug report --> http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/reporting_bugs

it was the newest release 1.7.1...and it was the 64 bit......I am running windows 7...64 bit on the laptop....so your saying I can download the 32 bit version on mixxx....and try that...even though the laptop is 64 bit??

Yep, 32-bit applications should run fine on 64-bit OSes.

If you find the 32-bit build works reliably, then I'd guess it might be something like one of the compiler optimizations on the 64-bit build that is set too aggressively for your CPU.

Probably a good idea to install it to a different location like C:\program files\Mixxx-32bit or something so as not to mix the 32 and 64 bit builds.
