When I Try to Open Up Preferences it doesn't show.

I am using Mixxx and I needed to do some stuff in the preferences and it has worked before. But now all of a sudden it will NOT come up and it would say it is up but now showing. This was very frustrating seeming as I was thinking about donating but I'm having second thoughts because I shouldn't pay for what doesn't work.

on which OS are you? How is your screen setup?
Is a second Item in your task bar for the preferences?
In the bast we had issues that the preference window was moved into a hidden screen region.
