preview deck does not appear on any skin on my laptop

I'm encountering a problem on a laptop with a 1024x768 screen; on it I have the same Mixxx version that I have installed on my desktop (1.11 r3878), but while on the desktop the preview deck appears, on the laptop it does not. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several versions on the laptop - it will not appear. I have tried many different skins, not just 1024x768. I specifically made certain to try the same skins and sizes used and working on the desktop.

The preview buttons and menu items appear in the library just fine. But after sending a track to the preview deck... where does it show?

Both the laptop and the desktop are WinXPSP3 systems.

I should also add - in ShadeDarker and Shade_PinkPlayset the View menu item for "Show Preview Deck" is grayed out.

Just had abrief look at your skin.xml, and it is based on an older version of the bundled skin.xml. The code section for the preview deck is missing completely and parts of the manifest, thats the reason the View menu item for "Show Preview Deck" is grayed out.

I recommend updating your skin agains the ones bundled with the official v1.11 using a diff tool . If you have any further questions, ask away.
