What are the differences between crates and playlists?

You can collect track in it from the lib or drag&drops items from folders and load them to the desks in order to play them.

But what separates crates from playlists exept the fact, that they can't drag&drop tracks within the crate?

Playlists can contain duplicate entries whereas crates cannot.
