Mir

when a version 1.0 will be released?

Asked by Emanuele Antonio Faraone

when a version 1.0 will be released? Mir is now an almost stable version, and I think, after the 0.26 version should be released the first stable version (1.0) then going to sanction the arrival of Mir and unity8 default on Ubuntu 17.04

We will be releasing a "Version 1" of Mir before 17.04 with stable APIs and ABIs for downstream servers and clients.

This will involve a client ABI break as we will be removing a large number of deprecated functions.

NB Choosing to label a Mir release "Version 1" reflects the maturity of the Mir project. It should not be considered an indication of what may or may not be the default shell in Ubuntu 17.04.

The criteria for releasing 1.0 are being revised. What many (including me) expected to be 1.0 will now be 0.28.
