No minimal information available on common build dev computer setup

Asked by Seraf Junior Dos Santos

Hi, I'm interested in providing some development contributions on midori which I have a great esteem in actual and future usage. I see that there's a lot todos, bugs, proposals and I do have some interesting implementations of my own which I currently am thinking of doing.

Firstly, I searched on Google for some info regarding a particular or common build setup and found nothing. I did read the midori (twotoasts.de) Website and did some lookup on the build requirements as it's informed but I would like that some of the contributors share some build setups of their own.

I currently use a mixed Linux Mint and Ubuntu 12.04 desktop for development and I'm wondering what would be the best setup for a common Midori build.

Would any of you, yet to as many of you possible, contribute a short text suggesting a build setup including:

* Suggested OS
* Suggested IDE
* Commonly known fails and traps

Thank you for any prompt future answers.

P.S. I'll ask the same question on IRC later but I think some paragraph on the subject would be welcomed by all!

Does http://wiki.xfce.org/midori/contribute constitute your idea of build setup description? Similar, less complete documentation used to be in the repository in INSTALL and HACKING.

The http://wiki.xfce.org/midori/contribute will suffice for the moment. Thank you!
