Generation of p p > t c h h

Asked by José Eduardo de Jesus Gonçalves

I'm trying to generate p p > t c h h events, but MadGraph is giving me an error, stating that "no amplitude generated from process [...] Please enter a valid process". I am doing a bachelor's project that involves the study of higgs couplings at mostly HL-LHC conditions.

My professor has told me this is probably due to the fact that the process involves a loop containing a W boson. Is there any way to allow the program to generate events in NLO in electroweak theory? I know it's possible for QCD.

Hi,

Such process does not exists in the Standard Model (as far as i know at least).
So the way to generate your process will depend of your model.

If your process is tree-level then the syntax will be
generate p p > t c h h

if your process does not have tree-level, then you need to go to the one loop computation (if your model does support such type of computation)
generate p p > t c h h [noborn=QCD]
Note that this syntax is Leading Order and not NLO.

In any case, we can not generate events at NLO in the electroweak theory.

Cheers,

Olivier
