Contribution of Tau Decay with Pythia8 to total cross-section

Asked by Aya Ismail Hosny Beshr

Dear MG Experts,

I am using 2HDM_NLO model to generate the following process,

generate g g > h1 h1 /h3 [noborn=QCD]

then with madspin,

set spinmode none
decay h1 > b b~
decay h1 > ta+ ta-

I would like to ask please assuming that taus pair decay hadronically with pythia8 (I am not specifying any decays for taus), are their branching ratios contribute to the total cross-section computation of the whole process ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Aya

Hi,

I'm not a pythia8 author/expert, so this might not be the best place to ask such question.
If the cross-section reported at the end of the log file of pythia is the same as the one of madgraph, then clearly pythia8 has decay within all possible decay mode for the tau.

Cheers,

Olivier
