Fewer number of events are produced

Asked by Rouzbeh

Hi,

I tried to generate a BSM model in Madgraph v.3.4.2 (p p> H ~V ~V , H > tau+ tau-) which V is vector dark matter. I already defined the width for my portal particle to avoid this problem, However, I set a number of events to 10k, but I got fewer number of events than expected and set. Is this event and cross-section reliable?

Thank you so much for your consideration.

Best,
Rouzbeh

Typically, I do not trust results when I get less than 10k events.
What is the width of H (is that your portal particle?)

How large is the cross-section reported (i.e. is it a singularity issue?)
Did you try to change the phase-space integration strategy?

Cheers,

Olivier

Hi Olivier,

Thank you so much for your response. I changed the phase-space integration strategy and the problem was solved.
