NLO k-factor with default Pythia8 matching scheme

Asked by Ro S

Hi,

I am currently running MadGraph5 LTS v2.9.9 with Pythia8 installed via mg5_aMC. I am studying the process

define l = l+ l-
define neutrinos = vl vl~
define W = W+ W-
generate p p > W j, W > l neutrinos @1
add process p p > W j j, W > l neutrinos @2

I am using the default matching scheme in Pythia8. Using the LO and NLO estimations at 13 TeV in 1405.0301 for W j and W j j I would like to obtain a k-factor to correct my prediction for the total number of events, but since I an merging events from both processes at LO I am not sure what is the NLO correction that I should consider. Could you please help me?

Cheers,
Rosa.

Personally, I would define your K-factor such that your cross-section after merging is equal to the NLO value for Wj.
