Problem with incorporating SPheno.spc as param_card.dat in MadGraph

Asked by Debabrata Sahoo

Dear Sir,
First of all I generated a UFO file using SARAH for MSSM model and also generated a SPheno file using SARAH for that same MSSM model. Now in Madgraph i used that UFO file and generated a process "p p > go go", and saved the output as trial1, but did not launch the output yet. Now in SPheno I used the SPheno file and obtained SPheno.spc.MSSM file. Now I tried to use this "SPheno.spc.MSSM" file as my param card instead of the param_card.dat that is being generated by Madgraph. So for that i deleted the existing param_card.dat inside and replaced it with "SPheno.spc.MSSM" and renamed it as param_card.dat and tried the launch output. Then I am getting error as invalid ParamCard. So my method is wrong or is there something I am missing here. Please help me.

Hi,

Those cards typically contains information in "extended" format that can make MG5aMC to crash. In the latest version we should be able to handle more of this type of "extended" format and just ignore those information that are not designed for us.
Now this is also possible that this is another "extended" format that we have not yet seen and therefore not yet supported.

So my advise would be
1) try with the lastest version (3.5.1)
2) if this does not work, I would need the model and the Spheno card to see what the problem is.

Olivier
